👉Signs of presence  :  Killing of poultry birds in villages at night, pugmarks.

👉There are three races of this mongoose. Mongooses are not completely free from the deadly effects of snake venom. However, they (as also pigs and hedge hogs) are certainly less affected by the snake venom as compared to other animals. It is only a belief (not a fact) that the mongoose chews roots of some 'mysterious' plant when bitten by a snake during its fight with a snake. It is a fact that during snake fights, hair of its body rise in an erect manner and such erected hair can protect it from snake bite
